Views from a Child's eyes: August 2006

I didn't dare to suggest to mom today that I didn't feel like attending school. So I was very surprised when mummy changed me into outside clothes instead of me school uniform.

I asked mummy where she was bringing me to. And she said she's going to bring me to a playground at where she brought me the last time. I had no idea where she meant but when I saw the place, immediately I remembered it's "Wild Wild Wet" and not "the Sesame Street place".

We stopped by at McDonalds for mummy's breakfast (I had mine at home). I had a little of mummy's hashbrown and then I didn't feel like eating anything.

We then walked over to a supermarket to buy something for Alexandra 妹妹. I picked up the gummies for 妹妹 and mummy said I can pick up one for myself. At first I picked the Rabbit sweets (although it's cheaper) but mummy said the pack is too big. So I picked another candy for myself. I ate one on the way out, and when mummy asked me "Is the sweet nice?" I told her that the sweet is hard and sour.

We then went over to the Explorer's Club, where we waited for Aunty Angeline and Alexandra 妹妹 inside (airconditioned). I was very shy when I saw Aunty and 妹妹, I gave 妹妹 the sweets and I got a bigger present in return. Aunty said "that's my present for playing truant" (for me being a big sister. Wow! If I had known being a big sister means I can get alot of presents, I would have asked mummy and daddy to give me a 妹妹 or 弟弟 sooner. Or maybe I should ask them again when 妹妹's born)I told Aunty that I will take care of my 妹妹.

Aunty Angeline paid for me to play, and I thanked Aunty. Then Alexandra 妹妹 and me went to play. Mummy said I've been there 2 yrs ago but I don't think I remember. Time passes by and it is time to go. I wish I can play a longer time, as we leave mummy promised she will bring me back again.

In the foodcourt, I shared mummy's chicken rice. She bought steamed egg from another stall for me, but I'm so happy with just the rice and black soya sauce.

I was a good girl and kept holding 妹妹's hand to bring her back to the table.

We left Downtown East and mummy said she's bringing me to see baby. Mummy so blur.... she missed the turn at Thomson Road (she came from Upp Thomson) so he headed up to Lornie Rd. Made a U-turn and missed the hospital again as we headed up towards Upp Thomson. I told mummy "mummy you missed again. Now the hos-pi-tale is behind us." Mummy made a turn in some estate and fortunately this time she kept left to turn at the correct exit. After going up & down the road we finally turned into the hospital.

Baby Shai-Ann is so small. I looked at her first then mummy and me went to wash our hands. After some time, then mummy carried baby and all I did was to look. After some time, I asked mummy to carry me...Mummy carried baby to the bed where Aunty is. She put me on her lap, and I asked her "mummy, you didn't wash your hands again." Mummy said because I'm a big girl, she don't have to wash hands but we had to wash our hands because we came from outside.

I like baby - so quiet cannot argue with me. I think that's how 妹妹 will look like?Ai yoh...so small how to play with me?

Mummy then brought me to a shopping mall, where we spent about 2 hours plus there before heading back home. Aunty Zet had my dinner ready for me when I got back home, and she fed me dinner. Although we spent a shorter time gai-gai (about 7-8hours), I'm happy as long as I get to skip school.

National Day

Mummy painted on my arm the Singapore flag, because tomorrow's National Day, and we're celebrating it in school today. I was so happy and asked mummy to paint my name and a heart-shape as well.

I remember last year, dua-gu painted on my face. And also the fireworks and parade which we managed to see from daddy's office in Raffles City last year. Wow! Another year has passed so quickly.

I am a Princess! I am a Princess!

I have been waiting for this day to have my Princess photos taken.

I actually wanted to be Princess Aurora but mummy said the dress is quite ugly, and I also agreed with her. No regrets whatsoever, coz' I really look so different being Princess Belle.

Mummy went to take up another package, so instead of just one outfit, I get to wear another one. I get to choose to wear another Princess dress or change to a fairy dress. I like the fairy dress.

I was quite obedient and asked what the photographer asked me to pose. But I saw mummy laughing at me, when I kept slipping from the pillows, crawled back up, slid down again ...

It was so fun! Mummy get to see all the photos today, and she's purchased more than usual. There were quite a number of nice photos of me. She will put them in at a later date, about 2-3 weeks from now. I am so excited to show everyone..

Met my favourite Aunty Jus

I have been looking forward to this day since last week. Everyday when I wake up, I'll ask mummy "mummy what day is it today. Them tomorrow leh.. then after that?" When she says Saturday, I'll always tell her "Saturday, I go see Aunty Jus (okay now, I pronounced my words better - she's Aunty June)

I really like Aunty June, she's so nice. And I told mummy that I am going to share my sweets with her. Mummy said that I'm a good girl for sharing things. Before that, mummy teased me for sleeping so low last night that my nose is at her armpits. Then she asked me "Is mummy's armpit nice smelling or daddy's." I told her "Aunty June's armpit." Mummy laughed and said "then later on, you go and smell Aunty June's armpit."

Anyway, I'm so happy to see Aunty June after such a long time.

Am I rewarded for being good??

I got a pleasant surprise today when mummy didn't object when I told her I didn't want to attend school. Instead, she said "okay, we shall go gai-gai later. Wake up and have your breakfast."

I kept asking mummy where we were going, but she simply kept quiet.

I was so happy when I saw mummy going towards Dr Teoh's clinic, because I really like him.
I got to play with him a short while, and get to see my mei-mei from the screen (again!). Why is it that I can only see my mei-mei on the screen?

After the appointment, we walked over to Lucky Plaza for our lunch. I shared noodles with mummy while Aunty Zet had her fishball noodles.
Mummy brought me to ELC and we left the shop empty-handed except for a pink colour balloon. Mummy needs to get some art supplies in Takashimaya. So she asked Aunty Zet to bring me to The Better Toy Shop. I played the train train with another boy. Mummy then bought me a new toy, to test my intelligence. I wanted to tell her "no need, I'm smart enough." But since she wanted to buy, I let her be. I played with the IQ Puzzles in MacDonalds and solved most of it quite fast.

We left the place, as mummy said she needed to pick up some swiss rolls. I wonder what's that. We went over to see ma-ma as mummy said ma-ma is not feeling well.

It was a long but tiring day. And I really had great time today. Here's me playing with the new toy.

I did not attend school today

Mummy told me last night that we are going to take photos today. I asked her if it's the Princess photos, but she said no - it's next week.
Whatever it is, I am happy because it means I don't have to attend school.
Uncle made me look like a Princess too! I was so happy and kept playing with the wand, which I called it the Zippidy Zippidy. Then I proclaimed that "I am a Princess, I am a Princess".
And when he asked "who is mummy", I answered "Mummy's the Queen." Uncle started laughing at me.

We had so much fun. I saw some photos in uncle's computer, they look nice.
Uncle started taking alot of photoshots of me alone using different props. I can't wait to see them. I think mummy's thinking of doing a collage for us.
