Sleeptalk

Mummy told me this morning that I sleeptalk last night. I talked about "bubble bubble" and she thought she heard me saying "dua gu". The talk was quite long but she couldn't record it in time coz' she had to put her handphone battery back etc.... by the time she pressed RECORD, I stopped.
Mummy also said sometimes I do talk in my sleep. Is it? I think I must be dreaming that's why.

I am very happy today

Yesterday Ah Yi told me that dua gu will be back today, I am very happy. After school, mummy brought me up upstairs to mama's house. I was so happy and the moment the lift door opened I ran out, shouting dua-gu; dua kim. When dua-gu asked me to look at him at his room window, I was shouting very loud.
The moment I got into the house, I ran straight into dua-gu's room and told him I miss him alot alot. We talked alot and I asked him if he saw the statu of ligerty and if he took a boat boat.
We went down for dinner. After which mummy had to give me my GD lessons. Dua-gu sat next to me and then when it came to this chinese word "Pu tao" he actually said " I dunno what word is that." I told him it's "Pu tao." Dua gu felt so embarrassed, mummy told dua-kim that she can share her cards with her; so that dua kim can teach dua gu. So funny.....

Can you spot me?

Can you spot me? Mummy decided to scan this in just in case one day she forgets and throw away her YP magazines.
The first one was published in Sep 2003 when I was 7 months and the second one in Apr 2004 when I was 14 months.

I cry for papa

I am very sad. Today papa left again to "take aeroplane", before I could say more words to papa the cab came. I shouted "Bye Bye daddy" very loud as the cab drove off, I hope he heard me.
Mummy saw my lips pouting and told me to look up in the sky later "when you see an aeroplane taking off, wave goodbye to daddy. And when you see another aeroplane touching down, dua-gu is inside." Since mummy told me that; I wanted to stand there and wait for the aeroplane to fly by. Mummy asked me to go up but I refused. The third time, I listened to her but soon I began to hug mummy and she spoke to me. I started to tear a little.
The moment I went back home, I rushed to the living room and look up in the sky hoping to find daddy.
Mummy asked me to sleep but I want to talk to papa so mummy made a call to papa at 2301hrs. I cried and cried, asking papa to buy some more chocolates for me. I want papa.

I like to drink Teh O

Yes, I am not joking. I really like to drink Teh-O especially the one from Koufu in Punggol Plaza. Today as usual I'll drink daddy's Teh-O but this one is from Tampines.
Ye-ye likes to bring me to the coffeeshop (sometimes he sneak me out of school) and I drink Kopi-O with him.
Mummy says I'm crazy coz she herself don't really like to drink caffeinated drinks (she bluff one... she loves chocolates and there's far more caffein in chocolates)

Innovative ways to play with a hula-hoop

I can't twirl the hula hoop so I've found other ways to play with it. So fun...

Tried my luck this morning but mummy didn't give in

Nah! I tried it again this morning. Told mummy I didn't want to go school, she said there's no reason for me to skip school. I asked her "mummy go exercise?" She just kept quiet. Why can't she bring me along with her?
She sent me in at 8.59am, just nice for me to queue up and get ready for National Anthem. Later on, I saw mummy standing at the window while I was dancing to " I Will Rejoice".

I dowan to go playground

Mummy told me to keep my toys and then she'll bring me down to the playground. But I told her "I dowan go playground. I wan to take aeroplane with daddy mummy to New York and see waterfall and 'statu of ligerty'." Mummy looked at me and left me alone while I was rolling on the floor in protest.

Started crying for no reason

Last night mummy and daddy were watching TV and I lie down on the bed between them. Mummy kept turning to look at me and told me to sleep sleep. 9+ - awake, 10+ - still awake, 11+ - still dowan to sleep. Finally I don't know what happened I got very tired;rubbed my eyes and fell asleep.
Somehow in the night, I felt daddy carry me out of the bed to my own bed. The moment he put me down, I started crying. I cried and cried, they asked me what's wrong with me but I did not answer them. I hope they hear my cries for help. I want a sense of security, I felt so vulnerable in my own bed.
Finally they both allow me back into the bed. I turned to where mummy is sleeping and mummy hugged me. I feel so warm;loved and protected. Thank you mummy.... into my own dreamland.

How I spent my day today

Initially mummy wanted to bring me to PP and Suntec, in the end she said it might be too rush for her so she headed to Suntec instead. I managed to nap awhile in the car from ECP till the time mummy stopped the car. I woke up with a shock and asked "we go where." Mummy said "I bring you go gai gai."
We first headed up to 3rd floor where ToysRUs is, but we didn't go in. We went to the newly furbished Kids area where there are new shops. First I stopped at Growing Fun and mummy asked what I wanted for my present, and if I wanted a birthday or Christmas present. (actually mummy already gave me an ang pow so I asked for the latter). I said I wanted train train. She asked me to look around first; when I suddenly feel the urge. Mummy rushed me to the toilet. Phew! I almost pee-ed in my jeans. Then we somehow walked the other way and I ran into ELC - Early Learning Centre. I was playing with the train set on display and the only girl there. Mummy and ma-ma walked out of the shop and went into the clothing shop next door. I did not see them in ELC and started running out. Mummy called out to me but I wanted to show her what I did to the train. Eventually she said she'll follow me after I try on a dress. It's a gold coloured dress with some sequins and it looks nice for a cocktail evening dress. But the moment mummy put it on for me, I screamed "pain pain" actually it's not painful at all I just didn't like to wear dress, I want to wear my panties and home clothes that's all.
Gelare
Mummy asked me to go into Gelare where she stopped for an ice-cream - Chocolate Temptation. You can see it in this photo, but please do not be conned. She only asked me to pose infront of the sundae and didn't allow me to eat. I helped myself to the crispy biscuit and two pocky sticks. When mummy was eating and no hand to hold me back, I dipped my finger into her chocolate ice cream. HA! But mummy bought this $3.90 cookies for me. It's very nice..... she bought another one to bring back home.
ELC
Back to ELC again to play my train. Then mummy said "no more let's go."
Growing Fun
I like it when the aunty brought out another train set which costs $130+ while the first one I saw costs $110+. I told mummy I wanted the more expensive one as it has two trains. I don't know what happened later coz' mama brought me out of the shop.
Performance and balloon sculpting
There was this guy doing a sole performance on a makeshift stage with some children sitting on the floor. I watched what he was doing . Later I saw an aunty making nice nice balloons. (nicer balloons than what mummy make for me)I told aunty I want a flower, and she made one for me. After some time, I ran back to her again. This time she asked me which animal I wanted in her basket and I chose this thing which is orange in colour. She pumped up another pink colour balloon and made it into a heart shaped and put the orange colour thing which mummy said "it's a bear" onto it. I remember mummy's afraid of balloons and how she asked daddy to blow the balloons for my birthday party decorations. And also the look on her face when she pump and twist the balloons into animals for me. (Pls dun tell mummy this, but her dog don't look like a dog, her rabbit got one long and one short ear, she tried to make a bear once but the body is too long although the head looks nice.) Anyway, mummy was quite frightened when the aunty was twisting the balloons infront of me, I told mummy "mummy, you scared of balloons, Athena no scared of balloons". Mummy gave me one kind of look.....
ToysRUs
We went in to play with toys. I dunno why I so stupid walk out of the Exit area and I tried running back into ToysRUs but mummy held onto my hand and said "once you come out, aunty don't allow you to go inside."
Jalan-jalan
Mummy and ma-ma walked around. Ma-ma bought a purple (my fav colour) top. I saw mama taking off her clothes in the changing room and wanted to take out my clothes. Then ma-ma stopped me say "you're not trying clothes why did you take out your clothes." But i remember mummy asking me "why are you so guai when you're inside the changing room with ma-ma? You're always running about when I try clothings." The aunty there gave me 3 blueberry sweets.
I saw the coloured tiles on the floor outside and start hopping ; stepping on the same colour tiles. At some part, I notice different colours and mummy helped me "Athena count." "1-2-3" And then mummy carried me across and put me on the same coloured tile.
Then mummy went into GG>5, she was trying on her dress when I suddenly ran out (mummy was naked. Hee!). She asked the aunty to make sure that I run to ma-ma. Then I run back to mummy but the aunty held onto the curtain and didn't let me go in. Just then, mummy walked out. She like the dress and asked to look at other things, the aunty brought out another top for her, mummy asked for my opinion. I gave her more than she asked for...
Dinner
I told mummy I am hungry and wanted to go M but she said no. I asked to go eat Japanese food and she told me that there is no Sakae Sushi. So we went to Crystal Jade instead. I finished the whole plate of noodle, and 4 fried wantons (which mummy said is meat meat).
Hungry Child.vid
Then daddy came and joined us. I ate some of daddy's rice rice and then they sang a birthday song for me again. This time mummy bought a slice of Blackforest cake (she said there's too many birthdays this month, she already ate too many cakes) for me only.
Happy Birthday.vid
After that we all headed back home at 9pm

I know this is late

I know this is late, but since mummy managed to get the videos working. She decided to post the videos which she has saved in MPeg format.

24th November 2005 - 1 more day and I'll be 3!

The celebration took place in school today. Mummy has shared with us some photos. Please click on the right hand side Links under : Photos:Birthday celebration in school

At the same time, mummy is so happy that she's found this to share our videos.

Birthday in school.vid

Enjoy!
PS.Please let mummy know if you can't view it. She seems to have alot of problems with it.

I love my dua gu

Mummy have compiled a few pictures of me together with Dua-gu. I can't wait for dua-gu to come back home, I really miss him. Mummy says that we're going to celebrate dua-gu's birthday on 30th. Some more cake?? Will I get to blow out the candles again???
PS: Dua-gu I know you have this worry about photos being put online for the whole world to see. But mummy thought since you've been seen on TVs and newspapers so many times. She is proud to show off her brother to the world.

No choice but to go to school

This morning I told grandma that I did not want to go to school. But grandma reminded me "today the school is celebrating your birthday, who are they going to sing to if you're not there?"
I am very happy, I get to celebrate my birthday again. In the morning, I enjoyed dancing. Although when I saw mummy standing at the window looking at me. I smiled at her and dare not cry (coz' I want to eat my cake). A while later I walked up to the window and touched mummy's hand. Mummy assured me saying that she loves me.
In the late morning, Wei Teng was so naughty. Miss Leaw scolded him and I walked up to him and tell him "you naughty ah... Today my birthday, later I don't give you eat cake." Miss Leaw finds it funny and told mummy when she came in the afternoon to bring in the cake and favors.
I wonder what is mummy going to do for me tomorrow. Another cake??

" I dowan go to school."

For the past two weeks I have been complaining to mummy " I dowan go to school." Mummy had been having a tussle war with me every morning as she dress me for school. She pulls up my home clothes and PJs, I pull it down. She puts on my school uniform; I take off. Mummy always look nice when she greets me in the morning, but after the struggle with me she looks tired and glossy face. I wish I can tell her that by not bringing me to school will solve the whole problem, and she can look good.
Today, mummy have decided that this cannot go on. And she will speak to Ms Leaw and Mrs Wong. Drat! Tomorrow I should pretend to faint.

When you gotta go; you gotta go

Mummy have been telling me not to hold my bladder and if I needed to pee-pee, I should go. So... she's not practising what she's been telling me.
Today in the car told her I wanted to 'shi shi', and she told me to hold on as we're on our way to shopping centre and that she can't stop on the expressway. I told her " I want to shi shi now. Later the car wet wet how?"
Later in the night, I told mummy and daddy I want to 'shi shi'. Both mummy and daddy were very tired and they told me "you've got your diapers on, you can shi shi in your diapers." But I don't want. I want to be a big girl and shi shi in the toilet. I sat up and told them (they were lying down on the bed) " I want shi shi in the toilet. Later I wet daddy mummy bed. Then how?"
Mummy thinks that I am smart to make arguments. In the end, she got up and brought me to the toilet.

My Birthday Party

A day of celebration, a few weeks of planning and organising.
17th night at 11.48pm - mummy put up some decorations, minus the balloons
18th night at 9.25pm - mummy placed the favors into a foil container and do some coffettis thrown inside. Mummy brought the Elmo mylar to Concourse to have it inflated in the daytime. Mummy wanted to rent the helium tank to inflat some ordinary balloons tomorrow but they do not have anymore small tanks, so mummy decided to make do without the tank.
19th -Events in the Day
Mummy woke up early at 7am to give me my medication and started preparing the fruit salad. Finished about 9 plus.
10 plus since daddy was not doing anything, mummy decided to make him blow the balloons (also mummy's scared of blowing balloons). I was busy running from the bedroom to the living room with the balloons. Balloons were finally up.
A quick mopping of floor of the living room and kitchen.
12pm - a shower with the birthday girl.
12.23pm - Neo Garden came with the food. I ordered Mee Hoon they came with Fried Rice, told them I wanted the Bee Hoon back since I've already steamed some white rice. Very efficient they came back at 12.54pm
Before mummy can place the food on the table, mama;dua-kim and ah yi came. Thank goodness it's family members so I don't have to entertain them while busy with the preparations. Also, they can help themselves to the drinks in the fridge.
Ma-ma; gong gong; da gu;da gu zhang;xiao gu;xiao gu zhang and my cousins came at 1 plus 2pm, then party started. They had to leave as Cousin Lawrence has a guitar lesson, so at 3.30pm they sang a birthday song for me. At first I was happy then I started to pout my lips and I refused to blow out the candles. I ran away from the table into my room to play with my Playdoh. Mummy carried me back and they helped me blow out the candles. Da-gu helped mummy cut the cake. They left at 3.50+ and then gong-gong came. Mummy complained "now then you come....." Ma-ma they all stayed until 9+ to play with me.
Before they left, I packed my Playdoh in a plastic bag and told them that I am going to bring it with me to Tampines. When they were wearing their shoes; I wore mine too. I was very determined to stay over, so finally I get my way.

Crystal Jade without ma-ma

Today, mummy cannot bring me to the pool because she needed to do some last-minute grocery shopping.
As usual it's either Sakae Sushi or Crystal Jade for me, but I always make an automatic run into Crystal Jade whenever we are in Tampines Mall. The aunties all know mummy, ma-ma and me very well.
They asked mummy "ay, today the grandma didn't come?"
I was well behaved and let mummy feed me (usually if ma-ma is around I'll ask her to feed me). I shared a plate of noodle with mummy, mummy also ordered the fried wanton for me (which she lied it's meat meat when I pointed out to the prawns and ask her what it is).
Umm... yum yum

I cannot stand properly

Mummy very blur blur one. Today she brought me to see Dr Lee for my follow up. When she brought me to the toilet for pee-pee, she pulled down my panties to my ankle. I was screaming at her " Athena cannot, Athena fall down." She told me all I needed to do was to squat down and pee. But the toilet bowl is so big, I meant it when I told her I was going to fall down.
I'm used to the sitting down type, I think mummy have to train me in the squatting type.

One more day and it's my birthday party with family

17th, 18th and 19th. Mummy's been telling me about my upcoming birthday party. But mummy's not listening to me, I told her I like Big Bird. All she said was "too late!"
Months ago sometime in April or May, mummy asked who I liked Barney, Mickey mouse, Cookie Monster etc.. I told her I like Elmo, she checked with me again and said "okay, Elmo shall be your birthday theme."
Mummy started doing online shopping buying Elmo partywares as it is not available here. I think she was still trying to find more things when we were there holidaying. Last night I finally saw the big Elmo Mylar balloon 34" by 16". It's slightly shorter than I am, I stepped on the new flattened Elmo and mummy told me off.
Few days ago, I did tell mummy " I like Big Bird" and mummy said "it's too late." But why? I still like watching Elmo's World on Sesame Street but I enjoy the tall Big Bird more.
Well, I shall keep you posted about my party at home as well as in school.

Stop your singlish and don't eat your words

I've been hearing mummy telling me not to speak Singlish. I have been telling her "you see lah, you see lah......" Mummy stared hard at me and told me there's no 'lah' in a dictionary. And then yesterday I was telling her something and she couldn't understand me. She told me not to eat my words and speak properly.
Is there anything wrong with my language? All my friends speak in the same way.

Maisy Goes To The Fair

I like this storybook, Maisy Goes To The Fair, very much. Every night mummy will ask me to pick up a book from my room and she'll read to me. Most of the time, I like to bring out all my Maisy's storybooks as they are short. But this is my favourite.
I can read it too.
"Massy and Tulullah are going to the fair. " - flip to next page
" Hooray! (hands up) visha visha..... "(mummy says I'm mumbling after this) -flip to next page
" Hooray!" - mummy stop me, "no more hooray sweetheart," she told me
See! I told you I can read.

Am I cute??

I forgot to tell everyone how vain I am

I really forgot to tell everyone how vain I was. On Monday, mummy brought me out gai-gai. When we passed by a Maybelline counter in Metro, I stopped and told mummy "I want...." Later on a nice che-che helped me put on eyeshadow (I chose the colour) and a tint of pink lipstick.
Do I look pweety??

Nice nice??

After our dinner, mummy brought me to the foyer where they had little children some arty stuffs. I am so proud that this is the first piece I made on my own without any guidance and help from mummy. So colourful hor??

Trip to the swimming pool

Today mummy brought me to the swimming pool after school. It has been a long time since I went. In the toilet, after mummy changed me, I wanted to open the door. A usual mummy will scream at me "Ath-e-na... don't open. Mummy's not wearing anything." She told me that she is going to wear a swimsuit, I repeated the word after her.
I was very excited as she passed my small yellow ball which I normally play in the pool. Then I was so happy and walked towards the slide. I went up and mummy went into the baby pool waiting for me. But then I paused.... and walked away. I remembered the last time, I felt my legs and body wet and I got scared after that.
She urged me to go into the pool, it took me a while. After some time, I decided that it's still safer to stay with mummy. So I sat on her legs; I was 3/4 immersed in water. She bopped me up and down and soon she assured me that she will not let me go and asked me to kick. And she moved me... it was fun.
However this pool experience is not at all smooth sailing. Once I was walking with mummy (holding her hands) and I don't know how I just trip and fell into the water. Mummy carried me out of the water and hugged me.
After the pool, in the comfort of our home, mummy took this picture (of course with the swimsuit washed and dried). She bought this $90+ swimsuit from Seafolly and gasps that it's already tight (it's for Age 4). " Not worth it, not worth it. Can only use for another 2-3 times maybe," she said.
I want to tell her.. isn't it good mummy, I'm growing up.

私は日本の食糧を愛する

Did I ever mentioned that I love Japanese food? I like to go Sakae Sushi and it's my second time this week.
The food is nice and I finally get to sit inside as long as I " don't touch the conveyor belt". If I do that mummy is going to let me sit outside and strap me down to a booster.
My favourites are : chawanmushi ( I can finish the whole cup); kakiage and salmon skin inari.
I dug into mummy's bag and saw a camera (she wanted to take photos of me in the swimming pool earlier on but we had no one to look after the bag so in the end she didn't bring down the camera) and starting snapping the ceiling; windows; conveyor belt. I thought they are nice but mummy say it's too ugly and deleted them away. However she kept this kakiage picture I took. Not bad hor.... I inherited this good photographic eyes from mummy . Heehee!

Mummy smell my shit

I wanted to poo-poo so dua-kim brought me into the toilet. Mummy pulled the shower curtain aside, but I told her " Athena shame shame" and pulled back the curtain blocking outsiders from looking in.
Later on, mummy stood there waiting for me. I told her "Mummy you stand there (pointing behind curtain) Athena shame shame.." Mummy never moved so I used another method "Mummy, you stand there. Chou-chou (smelly) Then mummy said "I've been smelling your shit since you were young."
Actually I meant to tell her I do not want her there, I wanted dua-kim.

I broke mummy's heart.

Conversation between mummy and me when she was giving me a shower at ma-ma's house.
As mummy was rinsing the foam off my body, I asked her :

Athena: Mummy.. you wan Athena pom-pom (bathe) you?
Mummy: No, mummy pom- pom already. I pom- pom at home.
Athena : Pom-pom in Pang-gol no Tampines??
Mummy : Yes, in Punggol
Athena : trying to act coy and shy Mummy, I go back Pang-gol today?
Mummy : Yes, you're going home with mummy today.
Athena: I or-or(sleep) here in Tampines yesterday
Mummy : Why did you sleep here?
Athena : You never go bring me back Pang-gol
Athena : Mummy, I want to or-or with daddy mummy
Mummy: Daddy's not at home. You or-or with mummy?
Athena : I or-or with mummy. I dun like stay Tampines, I like Pang-gol.
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Mummy's very elated that I said this.

Later on, ma-ma asked "Athena you stay in Tampines tonight?"
Athena: Yes, I wan or-or here in Tampines

Quote

I am so cute today. After making mummy and daddy angry I finally made them laugh. Daddy took the same lift with us, and when he turned to the LHS side gate I told mummy "daddy go that side take aeroplane. We go this side take car."
Ha! Ha!

I'm a carnivore

Mummy realised today that I am finally eating a little more (but still lesser than my usual one bowl of rice).
I love to eat meat and hate ke-getables(vegetables) and fruits. So mom went to the medical hall and she introduced chlorella. Says that people need what red, white and green. And that next time once my Vit C finishes to buy a white cherry Vit C instead. Umm.. whatever it is, the Chlorella helps. Mummy put it in my milk lying to me "It's your new milk." It did help. I managed to poo poo everyday now so I can space to fill up my stomach.
Mummy thinks soon I'll be able to eat like usual and get my fleshy back.
Tips for parents : Lady at medical hall says the reason why I'm not eating vegetables is because of what "parents did wrong" . I have never seen something green coz' everything used to be minced up. Mom thinks it's logical at one point... however you can't expect a small baby to bite a big leaf right?? So it's up to you whether this is what you believe in too.

Sizzler..mummy's sizzling temper.

On Saturday, we were having lunch at Sizzler. I made mummy very angry. At first she took off my shoes because I was stepping on the long couch. After some time she left for the washroom and came back saw me walking around the buffet area without my shoes. She insisted that I wear my shoes, I struggled myself out from her and ran to ma-ma. In the end, she carried me back to our table and wanted to put on my shoes.. I struggled and kicked her. She was so mad at me.... I dunno what's she thinking but since daddy said "let her go" why did mummy insist that I put on my shoes?
A long time later I decided to 'friend' mummy after dua-kim and ma-ma told me off.

Athena (nodding her head) No, dua kim take.
Mummy : Why did dua-kim take for mummy. You are supposed to take for mummy.

To end its 2005 season, The Little Company – a division of the Singapore Repertory Theatre presents The Snow Queen. This musical, based on the well-loved tale by Hans Christian Andersen, will be the first children’s musical to be staged at the Esplanade Theatre. Gerda searches for her brother Kai when he’s bewitched and imprisoned by the Snow Queen in her ice palace. Gerda’s innocence charms all good people and animals she meets. With the help of the Crow family, she escapes an enchantress, visits the royal court and travels to the far North. There, in a final confrontation with the Snow Queen and her ice creatures, good conquers evil and the children are reunited. This enchanting musical, for everyone aged 5 years and above, will feature stunning sets and wonderful musical numbers, providing the entire family with a not-to-be-missed musical experience. The Little CompanyThe Little Company is a professional theatre company that produces quality plays for children. We aim to enthrall children from ages 2-12, with theatre that is written, designed and performed specifically for them by professional adult actors. We strongly believe that theatre can help children develop socially, mentally and emotionally. The Little Company was founded in 2001 by The Singapore Repertory Theatre, based on the belief that children deserve the same quality of theatre as adults. Running away from home >>>>

Mummy's complaining that at such a young age, I've been running away from home. And everytime I will have to trouble either daddy/mummy to come over and fetch me home or ma-ma to bring me home the next day.
I like running away from home because in grandma's house I'm the queen and everyone gives in to me. At home, mummy is very strict with me. I don't like it.
Just today, mummy drove ma-ma and dua-kim back home after our trip to TM. I unbuckled my seatbelt, made a big fuss. Mummy had no choice but to let me go. I was thinking if she refused, I will let out a loud cry and wail.... all the way. Somehow before we reach TPE, mummy will turn back ( From mummy : - No, I don't care. I just turn the radio louder)
I like it in ma-ma's house coz there's so many many people to play with me.

My pai-si grandma

Today my ma-ma and ye-ye brought me back home to Pung-gol after staying overnight at their house.
I pestered mummy to play my Yoga VCD and I was doing Yoga with ye-ye on the floor. I was teaching ye-ye how to sit on his legs because he was squatting. In the yoga poses, I had to be a cat; dog; beetle;lion and etc.. I like the dog and lion better.
I was left alone on the sofa watching television program while they were having their lunch.
Then ma-ma made a remark " chui tu-tu", I turned and blinked my eyes at her. They both laughed at me, ye-ye asked me if I was angry with him, I told him no. Then he asked if I was angry with ma-ma, I kept quiet.
